I am Gianmarco Dell'Orca, an architectural engineer specialized in BIM, originally from Rome. I currently reside in Hamburg, Germany, motivated by the desire to gain a deeper understanding of the architecture and engineering of Northern Germany. I have a Bachelor's degree in Sustainable Building Engineering from La Sapienza di Roma, followed by a Master's degree in Building Engineering from the Università degli Studi di Firenze, both of which have equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of sustainable construction practices and advanced building engineering principles.
My professional experience commenced during my university studies, initially with a company specializing in the sale of painting products and technical consultancy. This role enhanced my technical skills and client relationship abilities, particularly in on-site operations, nurturing a specific interest in façades. This interest was further developed at university, where I studied advanced facade technologies applied to complex buildings. My second role evolved from an internship into a freelance collaboration with an engineering firm focusing on private construction and hotel structures, with a particular emphasis on HVAC and fire prevention. As part of the BIM team, I was involved in all the studio's projects. This experience also broadened my knowledge in energy refurbishment, actively participating in European community projects aimed at energy efficiency in private buildings to address the climate crisis.
In my free time, I love playing tennis and padel, and I have a deep passion for motorsports and cycling. I also enjoy traveling, with a constant eagerness to explore new places and cultures. Currently, I work as a freelancer, but I'm actively seeking a job in Hamburg that aligns with my professional aspirations.
