I am Gianmarco Dell'Orca‭, ‬an architectural engineer specialized in BIM‭, ‬originally from Rome‭. I currently reside in Hamburg, Germany, motivated by the desire to gain a deeper understanding of the architecture and engineering of Northern Germany. I have a Bachelor's degree in Sustainable Building Engineering from La Sapienza di Roma, followed by a Master's degree in Building Engineering from the Università degli Studi di Firenze, both of which have equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of sustainable construction practices and advanced building engineering principles.
My professional experience commenced during my university studies‭, ‬initially with a company specializing in the sale of painting‭ ‬products and technical consultancy‭. ‬This role enhanced my technical skills and client relationship abilities‭, ‬particularly in on-site operations‭, ‬nurturing a specific interest in façades‭. ‬This interest was further developed at university‭, ‬where I studied advanced facade technologies applied to complex buildings‭. ‬My second role evolved from an internship into a freelance collaboration with an‭ ‬engineering firm focusing on private construction and hotel structures‭, ‬with a particular emphasis on HVAC and fire prevention‭. ‬As part of the BIM team‭, ‬I was involved in all the studio's projects‭. ‬This experience also broadened my knowledge in energy refurbishment‭, ‬actively participating in European community projects aimed at energy efficiency in private buildings to address the climate crisis‭.
In my free time, I love playing tennis and padel, and I have a deep passion for motorsports and cycling. I also enjoy traveling, with a constant eagerness to explore new places and cultures. Currently, I work as a freelancer, but I'm actively seeking a job in Hamburg that aligns with my professional aspirations.
